This survey takes place within the European Commission Funded FP7 projects which deal with understanding, modelling and managing cascading effects in crises: CascEff (http://casceff.eu/), PREDICT (http://www.predict-project.eu), SNOWBALL (http://snowball-project.eu/), CIPRNet (https://www.ciprnet.eu/316.html) and FORTRESS (http://fortress-project.eu/)
You are invited to answer this survey because you have been identified as expert or actor involved in the management or the preparation of crisis situations. Could you please take 15 minutes of your time to answer this questionnaire whose aim is to identify your interests for technical solutions (tools) related to the modelling of dependencies and cascading effects for emergency management in crisis situations.
Terminology clarification
Cascading effects are defined as the impacts of an initiating events where: (a) system dependencies lead to impacts propagating to other systems (through system dependencies, an originating system is then damaging an impacted system), (b) the combined impacts of the propagated event are of greater consequences than the root impact, (c) multiple stakeholders and/or responders are involved.
