Sir/Madam,
As a student in conservation of paintings, I am conducting a research on issues related to the restoration of open tears and lacunas in canvas supports as a part of my master’s thesis.
By open tear, I mean any tear that has undergone a phenomenon of withdrawal and whose edges are no longer jointed, and by lacuna, a tear with loss of material in the canvas support.
I am seeking your participation by answering a few questions about your practices related to these alterations.
Thank you for your cooperation.
