GENOME EDITING:

Definition 1:

Genome editing is the insertion, deletion or replacement of DNA at a specific site in the genome of an organism or cell. It is usually achieved in the lab using engineered nucleases also known as molecular scissors.

Definition 2:

Genome editing is a tool that scientists are using to edit or change genome to obtain new characteristic. The genome is such as an instruction manual. That’s make us who we are. DNA is the language of the genome and encode all our life. Sometimes there is some mistake and people get sick. We can use some little molecules as scissor to cut a specific place (locus) of the genome and edit it.

With this method we can directly and precisely change a gene and have more chance to obtain mutation(modification in DNA)than naturally. And obtain our specific characteristic (such as “cancel” a disease, if it’s a genetic disorder).

Question 14

Question 4) Please classify the following products depending on your own acceptance (from 1 (most one) to 7 (less accepted))?

Supplement: something that completes or makes an addition in your alimentation.

Breeding: he mating and production of offspring (organism A*B=C)

Mutagenesis: DNA of an organism is changed, resulting in a mutation (modification in DNA, such as insertion, deletion or replacement). It may occur spontaneously in nature, or as a result of exposure to mutagens ( e.g. pysically (UV, sound...) Chemically (ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS)).

You can use a same priority level only once

ChoicePriority
Organic plants
GMOs with medicine
GMOs with added values (such as supplement)
GMOs in general
New plant from genome editing
Plant from breeding
Plant from mutagenesis

TO CONCLUDE:

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!

Your participation in this Survey can help me to understand better how GMO are perceived and the impact of the source of information on this subject. But also, the comprehension of the new technic of genome editing.
