List workfile fusion implies to have up to date content.
Frozen workfiles implies multiple inconsistent copies of the same families.
Up to date content is achieved by storing references to patent data, frozen content is achieved by copying.

Should user fields (annotations) be unique for a given family, or can it vary from folder to folder?

Local to Folder is what we have in workfiles right now
Making it unique enable easy editing from hitlist, but does not allow to have a document 3 stars (relevant) in one context, and 1 star in another.
If you chose the option for frozen workfiles you cannot have unique annotations: evrything is duplicated and inconsistent.

If we keep different annotation in different folders, and implement direct edition from the hitlist:

Making all values visible and editable from hitlist implies:
- complex and hard to use interface
- all fields become multi-valued (per workfile), which implies no sorting, hard to analyze at hitlist level

Can you mix Fampat and Fullpat record in the same folder

The Fullpat and Fampat records will live in different elastic search indexes, so mixing is not an option if dynamic workfiles (workfile/list fusion) are selected.

Right now the only way to do this in workfiles is an extra step of building a saved analysis.
We might want to ad the ablity to do it directly in workfiles
Pros: all editing is done in workfiles
Cons: makes the workfile display ot consistent with the rest of the system.
